Check your body fat percentage
Warning: the form below will help you estimate the percentage of your body mass that is fat, using the Tran-Weltman formulas for men and women. This or any other web-based body fat calculator can provide an estimate only. Although this estimate may help you determine more appropriate exercise and nutrition goals, it should not be used for important decisions affecting your health or as a substitute for qualified medical assessment and advice.
To measure your abdomen remove any bulky clothing. Stand up straight, but relaxed. Wrap the tape measure around your midsection at the level of your navel. Do not pull the tape so tight that it makes an impression on your skin, but do not let it hang loose, either.
To measure your iliac crest remain standing. Find where your upper pelvic bones protrude the most (you can feel for them on either side of your waist). Measure around at this point.
To measure your hips remain standing. Find the level of your body below your navel where you are at your widest. This spot varies considerably from person to person. Wrap the tape measure around your body right there.
