Calculate your Biorhythms online: Physical, Emotional, Intellectual cycle
The Theory of Biorhythms - Biorhythms are cyclical phases of life. They are divided into Physical cycle, Emotional cycle and Intellectual cycle. The assumption is that human activity takes place following periodic parabolas, with maximum and minimum peaks. The three cycles are fixed and intersect with each other, determining days in which one is mentally fit but not physically, or one is more fragile from an emotional point of view while one is very lucid intellectually.
The "fathers" of the classical theory of Biorhythms (to which the theory of circadian cycles is related) are two professors who simultaneously discovered the Physical cycle and the Emotional cycle between 1897 and 1902. They are professors Hermann Swoboda and Wilhelm Fliess. Both came to the same conclusions, one without the other's knowledge. The first was a professor of Psychology at the University of Vienna and the second a well-known biologist from Berlin.
The third cycle, the Intellectual one, was theorized by Alfred Teltscher, an engineer and mathematician at the University of Innsbruck, who came to hypothesize a 33-day phase by observing the performance of his students. Two researchers came to the same conclusions: Rexford Hersey and Michel John Bennet.
The parabola that graphically represents the three cycles has its maximum when the energies are accumulated and its minimum when the same energies are being exhausted.
Physical cycle, also called the male cycle: it lasts 23 days and reaches its peak after 11 and a half days. When this biorhythmic cycle reaches its peak, it provides strength and energy. Therefore, it is possible to increase physical activity and enjoy the benefits of accelerated molecular activity. In practice, wounds should heal sooner, one should be more determined and physically more capable, etc.
Emotional cycle, also called the female cycle: lasts 28 days and brings the greatest benefits upon reaching the 14th day. In the culminating phase, the human being should be more emotionally solid, animated by greater enthusiasm. One is more inclined to communication and relationships with others, one is more creative and better predisposed to falling in love.
Intellectual cycle, also called the thought cycle: lasts 33 days, has its peak after 16 and a half days. In the culminating phase, the subject should be intellectually more reactive, lucid, sensitive to stimuli and to the elaboration of thought. In the waning phase, the individual is more meditative, more inclined to assimilate concepts than to formulate them.

To calculate Biorhythms, select the date of birth and the reference date (the starting day to perform the calculation). The drop-down menus are ordered by "year", "month" and "day" to avoid errors in the case of leap years: the number of days is determined automatically. After setting the data, press the yellow "calculate biorhythms" button and the curves of the three cycles (Physical, Emotional, Intellectual) will appear. The graph covers an interval of 30 days. If you click or tap on the three small labels colored red, blue and green, you can make the parabolas appear or disappear to better visualize the results.
