Christina Aguilera

Christina Maria Aguilera, nata a Staten Island il 18 dicembre 1980, è una cantautrice statunitense che ha venduto più di 25 milioni di dischi. L'artista è anche produttrice discografica e regista di video musicali. Nata da madre pianista-violinista di origine irlandese e da padre militare di origine ecuadoregna, la Aguilera può vantare una estensione vocale di 5 ottave.
Nel 1993 partecipa al Mickey Mouse Club, assieme a Britney Spears e Justin Timberlake. Con il suo primo album, "Christina Aguilera", del 1999, scala le classifiche. Da ricordare: "Genie in a Bottle" (il primo famoso singolo), "What a Girl Wants", "I Turn to You", "Come on over, baby (All I want is you)". Quest'ultimo singolo le fa ottenere un Grammy come miglior artista emergente. Il successo si ripete l'anno successivo, con il suo primo album in spagnolo, "Mi Reflejo", e in seguito con l'album di Natale "My Kind of Christmas". Nel 2001 Christina Aguilera si unì a Pink, Mya e Lil' Kim e dette vita ad uno dei più grandi successi di quell'anno, la cover di una canzone di Patti LaBelle, nonché colonna sonora del film Moulin Rouge : "Lady Marmalade". L'album "Stripped", uscito nell'ottobre 2002, reatificò il suo status di star internazionale; oltre al provocatorio "Dirrty", furono estratti estratti singoli di successo come "Beautiful", e "Can't Hold Us Down". Il doppio album, "Back to Basics", del 2006, utilizza un'orchestra, un coro, un quartetto d'archi e trombe jazz, insieme a tecniche che "mescolano un suono vintage-soul con suoni più moderni per formare un genere hip-hop con rimandi al passato, mostrando appieno le qualità della sua voce".
Nel 2001, con "Lady Marmalade", Christina Aguilera si è aggiudicata il premio per la Miglior Collaborazione Pop e nel 2003 ha vinto il titolo per la Miglior Performance Vocale Pop Femminile, grazie al brano "Beautiful". Da segnalare, anche il premio come Miglior Album Pop Femminile per "Mi Reflejo" ai Latin Grammy Awards del 2001, un Bilboard Music Award nel 2000 come Artista Femminile dell'Anno, e due Rolling Stone Music Award nel 2004.
Il 19 novembre 2005 si è sposata con il produttore americano Jordan Bratman. Secondo la rivista Forbes, Christina è una delle donne vocalmente più valide al mondo.
